Konstfrämjandet Norrbotten
Residency programme.
The residency programme at Konstfrämjandet Norrbotten is connected to the on site exhibitions produced by the organisation and is currently by invitation only.
With collaborations as a point of departure, Konstfrämjandet Norrbotten wants to promote both big and small cultural agents, organisations and initiatives who are already active in the area and highlight on the diverse artistic and cultural landscape present in Norrbotten. The organisation wants to show how various actors in the area complement one another in creating value for each other and for the area itself, not least in communities traditionally considered peripheral, where geographical distances are vast and population numbers are humble.
Konstfrämjandet Norrbotten produces the Luleå Biennial as well as various independent art projects in Norrbotten.

About us.
Konstfrämjandet Norrbotten is a
non-partisan organisation based in the northernmost part of Sweden. The organisation strives toward making contemporary art available to the public, based on the motto “art for all”, as well as strengthening the role of art and artists in society. Konstfrämjandet Norrbotten wants to challenge current notions and promote art that is important for a broader audience than the majority society. Through a range of different strategies, methods, expressions and collaborations the organisation works to democratise art by inviting new target audiences to experience art and simultaneously working to develop the artistic field is the core of the organisation’s practice.
