We have been building an international network, collaborating with other cultural institutions and artist-in-residence programmes. These are some of our ongoing partnerships: don't hesitate to contact us in case you're interested or inspired and want to work together.

Iaspis is the Swedish Arts Grants Committee's international programme for Visual and Applied Artists. Its mission is to work with internationalisation in various ways with the aim of increasing and developing contacts between Swedish artists and international institutions, fellow artists, the general public and the markets with the aim of contributing to artistic development and improved working and income opportunities.

Swedish Lapland AiR is collaborating and taking part in other networks able to helping the development, the growth and the visibility of the project. Its international presence is also significant in terms of diversity, multiculturality and transdisciplinarity.

In this network we investigate the practices of well-being residencies. The network has been build on a two year project that is now finished. Our aim is to continue and grow the network and spread the methodology for a well-being residency practice. This is done in collaboration with artists, art organisations and social and health care professionals, locally and internationally. You are welcome to join us!

Each of our members is dedicated to offering artists, curators, and all manner of creative people the essential time and place away from the pressures and habits of every-day life, an experience framed within a unique geographic and cultural context.

DutchCulture | TransArtists combines and shares knowledge and experience and offers you all about facts, use and value of international artist-in-residence opportunities.
Its goal is to make the enormous worldwide residential art labyrinth accessible and usable to artists. The network is part of DutchCulture - Center for International Cooperation, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Artist residencies abroad

In partnership with Berlin sessions and Berlinerpool Arts Network, ArtNorth organised an artist residency that will be held in September. One artist from Norrbotten will spend one month in Berlin working on a project and networking.

Berlin Sessions Residency Program is a platform conceived to offer curatorial expertise, network building and logistic support in the art sector to artists and cultural professionals who are interested in gaining an insight into Berlin’s vibrant art scene.

The collaboration between ArtNorth and the Foundation Grez-sur-Loing led to an international residency conducted by a Norbottnian artist in Grez-sur-Loing, a village close to Fontainebleau and not far from Paris.

The Foundation Grez-sur-Loing, based in France, rents out flats and studios to academies, other foundations and institutions that in turn award grants for residencies at the Hôtel Chevillon.
ArtNorth is among the organisations currently affiliated with the Foundation. The funding organisations’ target groups represent a wide spectrum of artistic and scientific disciplines, which makes the Hôtel Chevillion an exciting and stimulating place in which to work.

Curatorial residencies

Moving away from the dominant capitals the nomadic residency program "CPR 2018: Dimming the Northern Lights" will offer curators the chance to explore remote spaces and times. The sixth Core Program will visit a collection of art scenes with peculiar situations that will address the complex subject of integration. The curator who will be selected will spend a month researching in and discovering Reykjavik, Tórshavn, Tromsø, Kiruna, Jokkmokk, Boden, Luleå, Hyrynsalmi, Helsinki.

With fully-funded research programs and continuous elevating platforms, CPR creates a socially-conscious network of emerging curators that connect with art scenes in burgeoning cities around the globe.
The aim is to foster the next generation of curators that have equal access to knowledge in order to successfully network and collaborate with international art scenes.
